Natural Products Research:

  • Phytochemistry - (Isolation, structure elucidation and bioactivity analyses of bioactives from medicinal flora and fauna; focusing on lead compounds with antimalarial, antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant activities).
  • Spectroscopic and chromatographic instrumentation (NMR, FT-IR, HPLC, LC-MS, and PCR).

Water and Food Quality Research: 

  • Biochemical & Analytical method development for water and food quality determination.
  • Identification, analysis, and quantification of foods nutraceuticals and antioxidants.
  • Cyanobacteria and algal toxins research in drinking water resources.

Quality Assurance and Risk Management in Higher Learning Institutions

  • Risk identification and mitigation.

Science Education

  • Quality science and program material development, training and course evaluation. Scientific innovations, environmental education research and technological training and advancements: Enhancing quality teaching of science subjects in primary schools, secondary schools and higher learning institutions through trans-disciplinary approach.
